Funny you should mention swimming pools. I read Freakonomics and the book discusses parenting and it shows that children are more likely to die in the family pool than they are from guns in the home.

It’s good and strange to see some parents aren’t as overprotective as they all seem these days. I have co workers building pools so their kids friends will come and play at their house and their kids won’t leave home and they always know where they are!

At least the little guy is supervised by a responsible teacher.

Still lov’n the road trip but I just can’t leave home without knowing where I’ll sleep even if the place is actually a little dodge sometimes. You should see what $60 gets you in Toronto.

I can feel bad about what I did 13 years ago, but I can’t undo it. I did slide that rail with my pegs, but they were also plastic coated pegs so they don’t chip the paint like metal ones do. Not that I need to justify past actions. I have to wonder if it isn’t a little ridiculous to say that I should not say that I am a peaceful person because I might have chipped some paint on a school’s handrail in 1993. I should add that I have never equated violence against people and violence against material objects as the same thing.

The comment above was initially written by “Reader”, but since I looked at the originating IP address, I made my best guess. The comment came from a computer at the University of Regina. I know a few people that attend/work at the U of R, but only one is the likely “Reader”. She is actually a campus security guard and I’m guessing that campus violations are at an all-time low and the security mandate has been expanded to investigate cold cases. I understand that if I caused damage, I could be charged with criminal mischief charges, but surely the statute of limitations has expired by now.

I see that you keep checking back (again log files and IP addresses). My guess is that you are looking for a reply, and I apologize that it has taken so long. I have been busy preparing report cards for my students and socializing with friends and family. As soon as I finish those items and leave this reply I will attempt to get a life.

Why do you insist on riding on private/public property? The rails have paint scraped and planters and such get cement chips taken out of them. It is mischief (a criminal offence) and for the ‘peaceful’ guy you once claimed to be to me, this is a little bit of an oxymoron. Who pays for the clean-up when you riders are done?

Doesn’t seem like a proper BMX road trip unless you had to stop to fix the van er I mean car. Driving through the night gives it enough cred though!
